NICHOLAS BRAIME, MA (Oxon), MBIM
Chairman and Group Managing Director
Nicholas gained an MA in History at Oxford University, before doing an Engineering Apprenticeship at Kitson College in Leeds, and a DMS in Management Studies at Leeds University. He started in the company as Assistant to the Production Manager, moving to the Drawing Office to learn Technical Drawing and Tool Design. In 1974, he joined a newly formed subsidiary, Braime Elevator Components , developing this into market leader in the global distribution of specialised components for the bulk granular material handling industry. He relocated in 1984 to the USA, to set up 4B Components Ltd. Nicholas returned to the UK in 1987 to become Sales Director of Braime Pressings, giving him first-hand experience of supplying presswork to the Automotive and other Industrial Sectors. Nicholas has built close relationships with the company’s key suppliers over several decades and has a clear vision of expansion for the business in strategic locations.
ALAN BRAIME, BA (Hons), ACA
Joint Chief Executive Officer
Alan qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG where he worked for four years before joining the group. Alan joined the board in 2010 as Group Commercial Director and was jointly appointed Group CEO in February 2023. He oversees the commercial operations of our manufacturing division Braime Pressings Limited and as well as our operations in Thailand. Alan is also responsible for the group’s IT operations and strategy. Alan has spent considerable time on the development of the group’s ERP systems, giving him a unique perspective into the impact of technology on the group’s business drivers.
ALISTAIR BARR
Operations Director
Alistair has over 30 years of experience in industry and has worked across a broad range of sectors including Automotive and Aerospace. He is a Chartered Engineer, Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, and has degrees in Engineering and Business Studies. Alistair joined the business in 2016 and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production.
JOE AINGER
Technical Manager
Joe started as an apprentice in the toolroom and has worked in all areas of the factory gaining wide experience in deep drawing and presswork. As Technical Manager, Joe overseas all aspects of product development and new product introduction.
VIJAY MUNNAM
Quality Manager
Vijay joined the company in 2016. With over 10 years of experience gained within the automotive sector in senior quality roles, Vijay brings experience of implementing and working in a lean and Total Quality Management (TQM) manufacturing environment.
NICK INMAN
Health and Safety Manager
Nick has many years of experience in a health and safety role, having started his career in engineering for the manufacturing/FMCG industry. Knowledge gained has assisted Nick in acquiring and upholding globally recognised safety and environmental standards. As Health and Safety Manager, Nick is responsible for all aspects of health and safety across our Hunslet Road site.
TONY SCOUGALL
Sales Manager
Tony has many years of experience in a sales role, having started his career as an apprentice press toolmaker. Tony has 30+ years of experience in the metal pressings industry, with career progression seeing his knowledge evolve through press toolmaking, production engineering, project management and the last 10 years in a sales role.
